The descriptions below are a compilation of historical, folkloric and modern herbal remedy uses. Many scientific studies are available online supporting herbal and holistic preparations. The following offers basic herbal information and is listed for educational purposes only. This information has not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

ALLSPICE (dried fruit) (Pimenta dioica) - Mexico

Anti-inflammatory, pain relief, relief from arthritis and gout, aids digestive issues such as diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and constipation, while also stimulating regularity, which reduces bloating and excess flatulence. Boosts immunity, anti-oxidant, may improve circulation. CAUTION: Do not use if pregnant or nursing and will soon be having any surgical procedure. Excessive consumption may impair ability to drive a motor vehicle or operate heavy equipment. Allspice can cause serious allergic reactions in hypersensitive individuals. Also, if you have existing gastric ulcers or ulcerative colitis, it is best to avoid using this spice, as it can exacerbate the conditions.


ANDROGRAPHIS (whole herb) (Andrographis Paniculata) - India

Traditionally used for respiratory infections including asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia, TB and sinus infections. Dysentery, e. coli, colds, flu, fever, general infection, general inflammation, acute urinary tract infections, Lyme related dental, jaw and gum disease, hepatitis/ supports liver, tonsillitis, throat pain, anti-bacterial, anti-parasitic, anti-spirochete, anti-viral treatment of Lyme and herpes viruses. Cancer. Is a natural immune booster. Andrographis Dosage: 1 drop per day for 4 days, doubling the dose every 4 days until the full dose of 16 drops per day is reached. If side effects are experienced, reduce to the last tolerable dose. CAUTION: Do not use if pregnant, nursing or trying to become pregnant. This herb is an abortificant. Contraindicated for ulcers in duodenum or in stomach. Large doses may upset the stomach, possible vomiting. Do not use if on blood thinners, blood pressure meds or chemotherapy meds. Not intended for use for children.


ASHWAGANDHA ROOT - (Withania Somnifera) - India

Highly regarded as a healing herb in India, it is historically and traditionally used to promote strength and vitality. Used to rebuild the nervous system from exhaustion and degenerative disorders related to aging. Is an anti-inflammatory, used to treat arthritis, brain fog, restores sexual function and fertility. It is suggested to alleviate knee pain and used for those recovering from long-term illnesses Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Lyme Disease. For use with thyroid and auto-immune thyroid conditions and Lupus. CAUTION: Do not use if pregnant or nursing. Has been known to have abortifacient effects.


ASTRAGALUS ROOT (Astragalus Membranaceus) - China

Stimulant, diuretic, general tonic, wards off flu, virus and colds due to its anti-viral activity, Lyme Disease, anti-spirochetal, eases chronic respiratory infections, aids in recovery from cancer and the side effects of cancer therapies, enhances health in HIV cases. Used for the prevention of Epstein-Barr virus. According to Stephen Buhner, he recommends astragalus daily if you live in a Lyme endemic area. This will keep the immune markers high to prevent infection or, if you are infected, to keep the disease symptoms as minimal as possible. For new tick bites, he typically recommends triple the dose for 30 days, then daily thereafter, indefinitely.


BARBERRY ROOT BARK (Berberis Vulgaris) - India

Traditionally used as a bitter tonic to help support liver and gallbladder functions and cleanse a congested system. Has long been used in traditional medicine for its anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and antiseptic effects. Has been used to treat yeast and bladder infections, Barberry contains berberine as well as a supporting cast of chemicals that calm chronic inflammation, including rheumatoid arthritis. Also used to reduce fever, improve appetite, relieve upset stomach and promote vigor for kidney pain and the removal of kidney stones high blood pressure abnormal uterine bleeding urinary and digestive tract functions. Maybe useful in treating hepatitis acts as a laxative nervous system disorders (epilepsy and convulsions) anemia hangover malaria nasal congestion, sinusitis and other respiratory issues intestinal parasitic infections effective for fighting bacterial infections used to destroy the Shingles virus.DOSAGE: Use 6-12 drops in juice or water, or under the tongue. May be taken 3 times daily. CAUTION: Keep out of reach of children. Do not use if pregnant or nursing. If you are taking prescription medications, please consult your healthcare practitioner before taking this product. Do not take this product if you suffer from hyperthyroid conditions, heart ailments, etc. High doses may cause depression, vomiting, lowered blood pressure and lowered heart rate, lethargy, nose bleed, skin and eye irritation and kidney irritation. It is recommended that Barberry be taken for approximately two weeks with a break before beginning regimen again.


BLACK COHOSH (Cimicifuga Racemosa) - United States

Balances monthly hormonal cycles of women, relaxation, calming, popular for stiff and achy bodies, menopausal symptoms. In the treatment of Lyme, it is used for adrenal support which is good for bladder support. Also used for Lupus. CAUTION: Do not use if pregnant or nursing or conditions related to the heart or blood pressure. Do not use when heavy bleeding during menses.


BLACK WALNUT HULLS (Juglans Nigra) - United States

*** This product is made with "GREEN" BLACK WALNUT HULLS, i.e. the black walnuts are harvested from the tree while they are still green. Many consider Green Black Walnut Hulls as a stronger, finished product.** Expels worms and is an anti-parasitic. Recent laboratory studies show that the chemical compound, juglone, may decrease the risk of cancer and may have anti-tumor effects. Beneficial in Lyme Disease. Is believed to have anti-fungal, anti-viral, antibacterial properties. Topical Use: May be effective against thrush, cold sores, poison ivy, jock itch, athlete's foot and vaginal yeast infections, which are caused by Candida. Use as a daily application. For impetigo, staphylococcus bacterial infections and ringworm, soak gauze with Black Walnut Hull tincture and tape in place in order to keep area wet. Keep moist for 5 days. Remove bandage and healing should be evident. Check daily after the 5th day and treat as needed. CAUTION: Do not use if pregnant or nursing. Not intended for chronic or long-term use. DO NOT USE IF YOU HAVE NUT ALLERGIES.


BONESET (Eupatorium Perfoliatum) - United States

For Bartonella and Anaplasma associated with Lyme Disease body aches, fevers, upper respiratory tract infections, anti-protozoa (Babesia), anti-bacterial (Bartonella), nerve sheath damage. CAUTION: Do not use if pregnant or nursing. Long term use is not recommended.


BURDOCK ROOT (Arctium Lappa) - United States

Strong detoxifier, blood purifier, is believed to clear toxins from the bloodstream and restore liver and gallbladder function. Considered an immune system stimulator, relieves gout symptoms. Used to treat colds, measles, sore throats and tonsillitis. Assists with exposure to environmental toxins (cigarette smoke or air pollution), parasites in the blood, heavy metals such as mercury, lead or arsenic in the blood, chronic bacterial or viral infections, such as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or Lyme disease. CAUTION: Do not use if pregnant or nursing. Long term use is not recommended.


BUTCHER'S BROOM ROOT (Ruscus Aculeatus) - Coatia

Known as "A modern woman's wonder herb". May be used to promote a healthy circulation, especially to the hands and feet and is known to be an excellent remedy for varicose veins, prevention of blood clots, prevention of post-operative thrombosis and hardening of the arteries. Used for bloating and to encourage a comfortable water balance. Also, used as an anti-inflammatory for Lyme Disease.


CALENDULA FLOWER aka MARIGOLD (Calendula Officinalis) - United States

Calendula may be used as an antiseptic. To use as an external wash for minor bites, stings, burns, cuts, wounds and bruising, dilute one part Calendula with one part water. Internally, Calendula makes for an effective anti-fungal, as well as a tonic for the digestive and lymphatic systems.


CAT'S CLAW BARK (Unicaria Tomentosa - Samento) - Peru

Traditionally, Cat's Claw has been used to treat rheumatoid arthritis. The herb is also used for stomach ulcers, gastritis, eczema, "break-bone fever" and liver diseases. Recent clinical studies have found that the herb is useful for relieving knee pain. Since the 1980's, Cat's Claw is most commonly used in modern herbal medicine is an immune stimulant. Cat's Claw is said to strengthen the immune system and also improve circulation by lowering blood pressure. Herbalists have used Cat's Claw tinctures and teas to treat cancer and HIV with success. It is a popular remedy for Lyme Disease, including the co-infection Bartonella. Cat's claw is also being studied for a number of other possible uses including Crohn's disease, multiple sclerosis, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE or Lupus) and Alzheimer's disease. More research is needed before scientists can say whether it is effective. Cat's Claw is usually used as a tincture. The tannins in the herb are released only if it is taken in an acidic medium add a little lemon juice to a quarter-cup of water to which you add the tincture or prepare as a tea. Regarding the TAO controversy: CMH uses Cat's Claw Bark that has been ethically harvested out of the Peruvian Amazon. TAO is naturally occurring in the plant species used by CMH (U. Tomentosa). However, do NOT be confused with U. Guianensis, which does have a higher percentage of TOA alkaloids - hence the controversy. As a natural herbalist, my personal belief is to use the natural form of the plant in order to retain it's indigenous history of effectiveness in the healing process. CAUTION: Women should avoid use of this herb when trying to get pregnant, are pregnant or nursing. It may be best to avoid use of this herb if you have any chronic health condition resulting from over-stimulation of the immune system, such as Lupus, multiple sclerosis, scleroderma, or Show-gren's syndrome. Do not use if you take insulin for diabetes.


CHAGA MUSHROOM (Inonotus Obliquus) - Northeastern USA

Studies show that Chaga Mushrooms may be used as an anti-cancer agent by boosting natural cancer-fighting abilities reducing the toxic effects of chemotherapy and radiation has anti-inflammatory benefits, antioxidant, immune-stimulating, pain-relieving and anti-ulcer properties is used in the treatment of Alzheimer's, CFS, rheumatoid arthritis and gout protects and regenerates cells and damaged tissues from free-radical damage promotes the growth of healthy cells thereby assisting in cellular repair and slowing down aging alleviates stress and anxiety and increases energy and strength. Is currently used in the treatment of Lyme Disease.


CHAMOMILE FLOWER (Matricaria Chamomilla) - United States

Chamomile is a natural calming herb. It is known to relax nerves, reduce pain, settle stomach issues, nausea, reduce gas, improve sleep, ease menstrual cramps, relieve headache and anxiety. May be used as an anti-inflammatory in the treatment of Lyme Disease.


CHICKWEED (Stellaria) - Bulgaria

Is known to dissolve ovarian cysts and reduce swollen glands, used for bronchial issues, has been used for weight loss as an appetite suppressant, Native American have used it as a remedy for cancer, nourishes the kidneys, bladder and liver. High in Vitamin B and used with Lyme issues. CAUTION: Large quantities of chickweed can cause vomiting and diarrhea.


CHINESE SKULLCAP ROOT (Scutellaria baicalensis/You Ji Huange Qin) - China

Traditional Chinese Medicine uses Baikal skullcap (Scutellaria baicallensis) as one of their 50 fundamental herbs. Root teas and decoctions are used for treating eczema, asthma, hay fever and other allergy symptoms. The herb may be used for tumors. Less commonly it is used for neurological disorders. Is thought to promote health is in circulatory function. The herb is thought to help keep cholesterol at a desirable level.


CILANTRO LEAF (Coriandrum Sativum) - United States

Detoxification support, heavy metal detoxifier and metal chelator. Anti-inflammatory, contains antioxidants that may help reduce free radical damage. Used in Lyme Disease treatment. Cilantro is a "mobilizer". Many people use binding agents (chlorella, bentonite clays or other similar options) for binding the metals that the cilantro may help to mobilize. CAUTION: Metal detoxification should be done under professional supervision.


CINNAMON (Cinnamomum Cassia) - Indonesia

Traditionally used for hypertension relief, may lower blood sugar levels, is an anti-bacterial, has antioxidant benefits and can prevent free radical damage, has anti-fungal properties to fight yeast infections caused by Candida, may sooth irritable stomach and digestive issues including nausea and upset stomach. Scientific studies indicate the spice may shrink tumor growth. Relieves flatulence, may lower cholesterol levels, used to assist with weight loss, used as an anti-parasitic.


CLOVE (Syzygium Aromaticum) - Madagascar

Traditionally used for asthma, coughs, as an expectorant, joint pains, indigestion, headache and nausea. Aids in digestion, removes heavy metals from the body. Known as an anti-microbial, anti-septic, anti-inflammatory, anti-spasmodic, anti-parasitic, anti-fungal, anti-viral. Used in Lyme Disease treatment and may naturally bust through and degrade biofilm.


COLTSFOOT LEAF (Tussilago Farfara L.) - United States

Asthma, bronchitis, persistent coughs, laryngitis and hoarseness, lung cancer symptoms, mouth and throat irritations, sore throat, wheezing, Lyme Disease. CAUTION: USE WITH EXTREME CAUTION. Do not use if pregnant or nursing. May cause spontaneous abortion and/or liver defects of fetus. Over dosage may become toxic to the liver. Do not use for more than 4-6 weeks at a time.


CORDYCEPS MUSHROOM (Cordyceps Sinensis) - New York

Traditional Oriental medicine uses cordyceps for enhancing energy, longevity and for the quality of life. It is reported that it assists with symptoms related to energy and memory in the elderly. It may help cancer patients with the immune system by fighting cancer cells and helping to cope with the side effects of radiation or chemotherapy. It is suggested that cordyceps may also contain substances beneficial to those with diabetes, immune and respiratory disorders, impotence, cardiovascular disease, joint/tendon support and supports healthy collagen. Cordyceps will cause an increase in sexual performance. Is currently used in the treatment of Lyme Disease.


CORNSILK (Zea Mays) - Bulgaria

Popular remedy for urinary track ailments. Also used for a variety of ailments including fluid retention, elimination of toxins from the body, painful and frequent urination, stones, gout, bloating, gravel in the bladder, chronic cystitis, liver problems and prostate disorders. High in Vitamin K. May help fight bacteria for kidney-related illness. CAUTION: Do not use corn silk if you take Lasix (furosemide).


DANDELION ROOT (Taraxacum Officinale) - United States

Used to detoxify the liver and gallbladder, to treat urinary tract infections, skin eruptions, stomachaches, blood purification, as a diuretic to flush toxins and excess water from the body. Menopausal symptoms. Assists with symptoms of Lyme Disease.


DAN SHEN (Salvia Miltiorrhiza) - China

Also known as Red Root Sage and Chinese Sage. Though a member of the Salvia (sage) genus, it is uniquely different from the culinary garden sage. Dried red roots are used in preparing this extract. It has been shown to promote blood circulation, increase coronary blood flow improving micro-circulation and has antimicrobial properties against some tick borne infections. The herb also has overall protective and strengthening qualities.


DEVIL'S CLAW ROOT ((Harpagophytum Procumbens) - Africa

Anti-inflammatory, pain relief for joint issues and back, Osteoarthritis or degenerative joint disease, Rheumatoid arthritis, gout, appetite stimulant, headaches, nerve pain, digestive tonic believed to help in the relief of constipation, diarrhea, ulcerative colitis and flatulence. Helpful with Lyme and Lupus. CAUTION: Do not take with gastric or duodenal ulcers gall stones. Do not use in pregnant or nursing. Do not take if you are on blood thinning agents such as warfarin and other cardiac drugs.


DONG QUAI ROOT (Angelica Sinensis) - China

As a restorative and relaxing herb, Dong quai supports a regulating and calming effect on the physical, emotional and mental aspects of the menstrual cycle, thereby enhancing hormonal production as required. CAUTION: Do not use during pregnancy, breastfeeding. Avoid if you experience heavy menstrual bleeding or fibroids. Use with caution if experiencing diarrhea. Not recommended for long term use unless recommended by your health care practitioner.


ECHINACEA ROOT (Echinacea Purpurea) - United States

Stimulates the immune system, colds, upper respiratory infections, Lyme Disease. People with Graves’ Disease or Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis can benefit from this herb, since it will help with their immune system health. CAUTION: Use with caution if you are allergic to ragweed.


ELDERBERRY (Sambucus Nigra) - United States

Common remedy for use in the treatment of colds, flu, Bronchitis, cough, congestion, sinus issues and sore throats. May also be used as an anti-viral and for immune support. Is used in the treatment of Lyme disease.


ELECAMPANE ROOT (Inula Helenium) - Hungary

Used to treat coughs associated with bronchitis, asthma and whooping cough used to prevent coughing especially in cases of tuberculosis and as an expectorant to help loosen phlegm also used for poor digestion and general complaints of the intestinal tract. Treats parasitic infections, including roundworm, hookworm, whip worm and thread worm. For Lyme Disease (Babesia and Anaplasma). CAUTION: Do not use if pregnant.


ELEUTHERO (aka Siberian Ginseng) - China

Anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, nervine, Lyme Disease, rebuilds stamina and the body's resistance to stress. For use with both hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism (including both Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis and Graves’ Disease).


EYEBRIGHT (Euphrasia Officinalis) - Bulgaria

Relieves inflammation caused by colds, coughs, sinus infections, sore throats, hay fever and nasal decongestion. CAUTION: Do not use if pregnant or nursing.


FENNEL SEED (Foeniculum Vulgare) - India

Used for various digestive problems including heartburn, intestinal gas, bloating, loss of appetite. It is also used for upper respiratory tract infections, coughs, bronchitis, cholera, backache. Some women use fennel for increasing the flow of breast milk, promoting menstruation, easing the birthing process and increasing sex drive.


FENUGREEK (KtRIGONELLA FOENUM-GRAECUM) - Egypt

Benefits may include lowering blood sugar levels, boosting testosterone and increasing milk production in breastfeeding mothers. Fenugreek may also reduce cholesterol levels, lower inflammation and help with appetite control, but more research is needed in these areas.


FEVERFEW (Tanacetum Parthenium) - United States

Migraine relief, sleep aid, mild tranquilizer, reduces inflammation, digestive aid, symptoms of Vertigo ~ reduces inflammation processes within your inner ear and improves blood circulation. Helps with migraines associated with Lyme Disease and Lupus. CAUTION: Do not use if pregnant or nursing.


GARLIC (Allium Sativum) - United States

Anti-parasitic has been found to be effective against worms including Ascaris (roundworm), Giardia lamblia, Trypanosoma, Plasmodium and Leishmania. Used for Lyme Disease. Bacterial, viral and fungal infections. Used as a blood thinner, to lower cholesterol levels, for high blood pressure, in some cancers. Is a possible tick repellent. CAUTION: Bleeding has been associated with garlic use and caution is warranted in patients at risk of bleeding or prior to some surgical/dental procedures. If you have an allergy to garlic, please use caution when using this product. Do not use if taking prescriptions. Consult your local physician or health care practitioner prior to the use of this product.


GINGER ROOT (Zingiber Officinale) - Peru

Time-honored remedy for upset stomach, nausea and indigestion, motion sickness, stomach flu, congestion, chills, diarrhea, cramps. Maybe used to treat the common cold, to help reduce fevers, relieve pain and headaches, reduce inflammation from joint pain and remove toxins from the body. Used for arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, urinary disorders, weight loss. Anti-parasitic. Used as an anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and anti-viral with Lyme Disease and Lupus. Begin using only a few drops several times a day, as needed. CAUTION: Do not use with Heparin, Warfarin, blood thinning pharmaceuticals or prescriptions. Do not use if pregnant or nursing. Consult your local physician or health care practitioner prior to use of this product.


GOLDENROD (Wild-crafted) - United States

Used in Lyme Disease treatment as an anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-spirochete, gastrointestinal support, liver support, immune support, anti-inflammatory. Used to treat kidney problems (including nephritis, hemorrhage, kidney stones and inability to void), prostate problems (including frequent urination). Relieves muscle spasms. CAUTION: Do not use if pregnant or nursing have heart or kidney disease have high or low blood pressure.


GOLDENSEAL ROOT (Hydrastis Canadensis) - United States

Used specifically for mucous membranes, i.e. congestion and chronic inflammation of the respiratory tract. Is used for female problems relating to inflammation of vagina, the uterus and/or urethra. Goldenseal can stop bacteria from adhering to the bladder walls and reduce the likelihood of a UTI infection. Used for liver and stomach complaints, to increase appetite and the secretion of bile helps with urinary and uterine problems. Used for Lyme Disease for its natural antibiotic properties. Combined with garlic, it works as an anti-parasitic treatment. Strong anti-bacterial with immune-enhancing properties. CAUTION: Persons allergic to ragweed should not take Goldenseal. Do not use if pregnant or nursing. Only use for 2 weeks at a time.


GOTU KOLA (Centella Asiatica) - India

Brain and nerve tonic that boosts mental activity, assists with rheumatism, urinary tract infections, fever, nervous disorders, bronchitis, coughs. Excellent for Lyme Disease sufferers for recharging adrenal glands to keep the nervous system healthy and strong. Effective in the treatment of water retention, swelling in the foot and varicose veins. It helps in improving the circulation of limbs and strengthening the blood vessels.


GREEN TEA (Camellia Sinensis) - China

Antioxidants to help boost the immune system, possesses antibacterial, antiviral and anti-carcinogenic properties may neutralize free radicals, is rich in fluoride and may reduce tooth decay, increases energy, increases alertness, increases the body's thermogenesis (the generation of body heat, which burns calories and fat needed to lose weight). Green tea extracts may prevent blood vessel constriction and help to lower total cholesterol while raising HDL (good cholesterol). CAUTION: Pregnant women or those who take blood thinners should not use Green Tea. People who use ginseng regularly or those taking patent medicine (especially codeine) should consult their doctors before using Green Tea. May cause insomnia, anxiety and other symptoms caused by the caffeine content in the herb. Large quantities of Green Tea have been reported to adversely affect the liver. Patients undergoing cancer therapy with Velcade should not take Green Tea extracts, since it may interfere with the drug's efficacy.


HAWTHORN BERRY (Crataegus Laevigata) - Poland

Anti-spasmodic, astringent, digestant, diuretic, hypertensive, cardiac-tonic, used in the treatment of varicose and spider veins. Assists in Lyme Disease by rebuilding the blood and injured tissues, also, Bartonella. CAUTION: May cause mild diarrhea.


HOLY BASIL - KRISHNA TULSI - India

Relieves stress, supports the immune system, abundant in antioxidants, builds stamina, powerful adaptogen, aids digestion, anti-aging, balances metabolism, balances energy levels, uplifts mood. This product is made with certified organic Holy Basil - Krishna Tulsi.


HOREHOUND (Marrubium Vulgare) - United States

Expectorant, anti-spasmodic, bitter, tonic, diuretic, stimulant. Also used for lung and breathing problems including cough, whooping cough, asthma, tuberculosis, bronchitis and swollen breathing passages. CAUTION: Do not use if pregnant or nursing.


HORNY GOAT WEED (Epimedium Grandiflorum) - China

Chinese herbalism highly regards use for sexual vitality for both males and females. Known as an all-natural aphrodisiac, increases libido, sperm production and helps with erectile dis-function and involuntary ejaculation. Used as an anti-bacterial, general tonic, promotes energy, restores testosterone and/or thyroid levels, reduces stress, reduce bone loss in post-menopausal women. HUACAPURANA BARK (Campsiandra angustifolia) - Peru

Huacapurana is very effective in treating the Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria. Some practitioners are using it in conjunction with Cat's Claw to treat Lyme Borreliosis with co-infections. Most impressively, Huacapana is used as an anti-fungal. Is a common remedy for malarial fever in the Peruvian Amazon. JAPANESE KNOTWEED ROOT (Polygonum Cuspidatum) - China

Japanese Knotweed is a large, herbaceous perennial plant, native to eastern Asia in Japan, China and Korea. It is frequently used in the treatment of Lyme Disease. Additionally, the main feature of this beneficial herb is the active ingredient called Resveratrol (found in red grape this antioxidant compound supports heart health, provides anti-aging benefits and supports a healthy inflammatory response. Resveratrol kills cancer cells naturally by inducing apoptosis (also called programmed cell death) while leaving healthy cells unharmed. It does this by converting lipids (or fats) in tumor cells into molecules called ceramists. For example, researchers found that Resveratrol causes breast cancer cells to die off in this manner. PRICKLY ASH BARK (Zanthoxylum clava herculis) - USA

For those who are unable to do the dosage three times per day for their horse, one vet suggested increasing gradually the dosage to 6-8 drops twice a day.


THYME LEAF (Thymus Vulgaris) - United States

Anti-microbial, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, flatulence, sore throat, cold, flu, respiratory system support including coughs and bronchitis. May reduce the heart rate of persons with high blood pressure may reduce cholesterol, triglyceride and LDL levels while increasing HDL cholesterol levels. Mood boosting effects. Parasitic worm infections. CAUTIONS: Do not use if pregnant, nursing or on pharmaceuticals including blood pressure medicines. For women who have hormone-sensitive conditions like breast cancer, ovarian cancer, uterine cancer, uterine fibroids or endometriosis, it might act like estrogen in the body. Avoid it if you have any condition that might be made worse by exposure to estrogen.


TURKEY TAIL MUSHROOM (Trametes Versicolor) - New England

Renowned in Asia as a source for cancer therapy and a promising clinical study shows that turkey tail mushroom improves the immune systems of breast cancer patients. Other areas of research suggest Turkey Tail may help in the treatments of HIV, Hepatitis C and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, in addition to viral meningitis, Lyme Disease (particularly Neuro-Lyme) and mononucleosis.


TURMERIC (Curcuma Longa) - India

Anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial. Relieves headaches and migraines. Research is currently being done with Turmeric in the fields of Alzheimer's Disease, Memory Deficits, Arthritis, Cancer, Breast Cancer, Lupus, Diabetes and Epstein-Barr Virus. Turmeric appears to be very useful for treating Lyme disease. It is suggested that Turmeric may have cyst busting capabilities and helps with herxing effects. Curcumin is a bright yellow chemical produced by some plants. It is the principal curcuminoid of turmeric. It is sold as an herbal supplement, cosmetics ingredient, food flavoring and food coloring. Chemically, curcumin is a natural phenol responsible for turmeric's yellow color. CAUTION: Interactions with NSAIDs, blood thinning agents. Chronic use can cause liver toxicity. People with liver conditions should avoid use. Not recommended for persons with gallstones, obstructive jaundice and acute biliary colic. Do not use if pregnant or nursing.


VALERIAN ROOT (Valeriana Officinalis) - United States

Valerian Root is known for its sedative qualities and its ability to relax the central nervous system. Powerful sleeping aid, is used as an antispasmodic for abdominal cramps due to nervousness, uterine cramps and menstrual agitation. Beneficial in the treatment of migraines and rheumatic pain. Valerian is used as a mild tranquilizer. Used to assist in the treatment of Lyme insomnia. CAUTION: Keep out of reach of children. Do not use if pregnant or nursing. If you are taking prescription medications, please consult your health care practitioner before taking this product.


WHITE WILLOW BARK (Salix Alba) - United States

Anti-inflammatory, fever reducer, Lyme Disease and Lupus. CAUTION: Long-term, daily use may reduce sexual desire. Do not use if you are allergic to aspirin, do not give to children under 16 years of age, especially with symptoms of any kind of viral infection, flu or chickenpox.


WILD INDIGO ROOT (Baptisia Tinctoria) - United States

The root of wild indigo was used by European herbalists to treat ulcers and several types of infections, including those affecting the mouth and gums, lymph nodes and throat. Wild indigo is rarely used alone and commonly used with other herbs, such as echinacea in the treatment of colds, flu, sore throats, infections of the ear, nose, and throat and also influenza. Stimulates the immune system. May be helpful as a treatment for laryngitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis and infections of the nasal and sinus passages. When wild indigo is used for the treatment of infections it will commonly be used in conjunction with echinacea and myrrh. CAUTION: Do not use if pregnant or nursing.


WILD YAM (Dioscorea Villosa) - United States

Menopausal symptoms, menstrual cramps, ovarian pain, nerve pain, PMS, reproductive system health, sexual desire in women, vaginal dryness. Anti-inflammatory, anti-spasmodic, diverticulitis. Lyme Disease. CAUTION: Should not be consumed in high doses by pregnant women.


WORMWOOD (Artemisia Absinthium) - United States

An intensely bitter tonic used for the expulsion of worms and parasites and to tone digestion. Anti-inflammatory. Used to treat inflammation in the digestive tract and to treat various aches and pains. Also used for gastritis, jaundice, hepatitis, fevers and liver problems. Is said to cure malaria. Used for Lyme Disease. Put tincture in a spray bottle, mixed with 50/50 purified water, and use it on poison ivy. For diarrhea and cramping, Susun Weed suggestions three drops of tincture in water once every hour for up to four hours. CAUTION: Do not use for longer than 4 weeks. Use with extreme caution. Typical dosage is 2-10 drops up to twice a day. Not intended for use if pregnant, nursing or for children.


YARROW FLOWER (Achillea Millefolium) - United States

Used to treat Lyme Disease. Anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal properties. Yarrow helps to relax peripheral blood vessels ~ improving circulation. Aids in the treatment of headaches. Yarrow is possibly one of the most useful wound herbs as it staunches bleeding, is anti-microbial and has pain relieving properties. Used to treat colds and flu. Useful for stimulating digestion and getting the bile and pancreatic juices flowing. Liver cleanse. Used for colitis, diverticulitis, bloody diarrhea and dysentery. Put tincture in a spray bottle and use it on poison ivy or as an insect repellent. To clean surface wounds, mix 1/2 tincture to 1/2 purified water. CAUTION: Do not use while pregnant or nursing.


YERBA MANSA (Anemopsis Californica) - United States

Commonly used for the sinuses and a great helper for chronic infections (bacterial, fungal and viral). Used as an astringent, anti-microbial, anti-fungal, lymphagogue. Also used for sinus infections, sinusitis, allergies, hay fever, asthma, bronchitis, cold, flu, arthritis, urinary tract infections, chronic infections, any condition of excessive mucous, diarrhea and tuberculosis. CAUTION: Do not use during pregnancy.


YERBA SANTA (Eriodictyon californicum) - United States

Wildcrafted in the USA.Primarily used for lung and respiratory infections and inflammations including asthma, bronchitis, influenza and tuberculosis. Also for constricted bronchial passages and as an anti-inflammatory. It’s also used to lower temperature and to loosen phlegm. CAUTION: Do not use while pregnant or nursing.
